As per sources, the state Govt. is now left with three choices regarding DA arrears
1) The state government can settle the DA as directed by the High Court. On September 22, the High Court dismissed the review petition filed by the state and said that the judgement of May 20 is upheld. Within 3 months, the DA arrears of the state govt. employees have to be settled.

2) the state government might go to the Supreme Court. State govt. employees’ organizations are preparing for the DA case to go to the Supreme Court.
3) The state government can make an announcement on paying the pending DA.

General Secretary of the Confederation of State Government Employees, Malay Mukherjee quoted, “We are confident of victory. But I think another legal battle will only add to the delay. Hence, it would be wise on the part of the state government to make an announcement on this count before November 4, and avoid contempt of court proceedings”.
