West Bengal DA Arrears – The issue of West Bengal DA Arrears of Govt. employees and retired Govt. employees is one of the most talked about issues in India today. The legal case between the state government of West Bengal and state government employees regarding West Bengal DA Arrears has been transferred from the Calcutta High Court to the Supreme Court of India.

Big update on West Bengal DA Arrears case!

The Govt. employees had hopes on the day of the first hearing of Supreme Court. On May 20, 2022, the Calcutta High Court directed the state government to pay DA arrears to the employees. But, the state government applied to the High Court for re-consideration of the order regarding West Bengal DA Arrears.

Later challenging the High Court verdict, the state government approached the Supreme Court. Government employees are hoping that the judgment of the West Bengal DA Arrears case will go in their favor in the Supreme Court. A news got viral on several social media platforms that DA dues of state government employees will come up in the third week of January.

The hearing will be held in a division bench of the apex court comprising Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari. But due to error in the affidavit submitted by the state government in that DA case, the hearing of the case has been postponed.

The DA case will be heard in the Supreme Court on 15. 03. 2023. The state Govt. was directed to submit an error-free affidavit. A division bench of the court adjourned the hearing of the case by two months due to defects in the affidavit filed by the state government in the West Bengal DA Arrears case in the Supreme Court.
