Red alert issues for Heavy Rainfall in Tamilnadu.

Heavy Rainfall in Tamilnadu – Many parts of the state of Tamilnadu has been facing heavy rainfall issues. Chennai has issued red alert for Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Karaikal on November 11.

Thunderstorm / lightening is likely to occur at isolated places over Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Chengalpattu, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Villuppuram, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Karaikal, Tiruvarur, Tiruvannamalai, Kancheepuram, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Erode, Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Theni districts during the next one to two hours. Nagercoil town received 29 mm of rain.

Heavy Rainfall in Tamilnadu – Few districts are still in danger.

Tiruvannamalai reported one death on 10th November and 40 houses were damaged across Tamilnadu. Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam, Velankanni in Nagapattinam district recorded heavy rainfall.

“Early warning system is active. We have kept the 100 community halls and 12 cyclone protection centres ready to accommodate people from low-lying areas if required,” said Dr. A Arun Thamburaj, the district collector of Nagapattinam about the heavy rainfall in Tamilnadu. Trichy, Karur, Ariyalur, Perambalur districts have declared local holidays for educational institutions on 12.11.22. A large tree uprooted and collapsed on the Coonoor. Kodaikanal received 7 mm of rain.

Nagercoil recieved 29mm of rain, which is the highest one. Kottayam, Thuckalay, Eraneil received heavy rainfall.
