Chief Minister declared Additional Holidays on the occasion of Saraswati Puja from This Day!
Additional Holidays – Honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced additional holiday on the occasion of Saraswati Puja in West Bengal. Earlier there was a confusion about the Saraswati Puja holiday. Saraswati Puja is scheduled to be held on 26. 01. 2023.

India’s Republic Day is also on the same day. But there was a “vacation related” confusion arose among state Govt. and private sector employees.
She declared an additional holidays on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. Meanwhile, there is a holiday on the occasion of Saraswati Puja on Thursday, January 26 in the official calendar. But it turns out that day is also the “Republic Day” of India. So thinking about the employees, Honourable CM has announced additional holidays on the occasion of Saraswati Puja.
Additional leave is available for two consecutive days on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. The leaves are Thursday, 26th January and Friday, 27th January. As Saraswati Puja and Republic Day are together on January 26; the next day, January 27, is an additional holiday for Saraswati Puja. The announcement made by C.M brought smiles on the faces of state government and private sector employees of the state.
Along with Thursday and Friday off, many of them may also take Saturday off. The next day, 29th January is Sunday. So, many people would have 4 day offs out of 7days that week.
In this state “Winter vacation” has been announced and extended.
