West Bengal DA Arrears – The issue of West Bengal DA Arrears of government employees and retired government employees is one of the most talked about issues in India today. The legal case between the state government of West Bengal and state government employees regarding West Bengal DA Arrears has been transferred from the Calcutta High Court to the Supreme Court of India.

At the end of the year, the state was again in a fiery situation. West Bengal C.M Mamata Banerjee again in a coalition of state government employees over Dearness Allowance dues.
In December 2022, the West Bengal DA Arrears case has been transferred from the High Court to the Supreme Court. So far no such decision has been received from the Supreme Court. Debaprasad Halder of Unity Forum had said that a public holiday has been announced on 27. 01. 2023 due to the demand of West Bengal DA Arrears. According to him, since that day continuous protests have been called.
Central government had increased the DA rate of employees by 3%. DA of Government employees increase from 31% to 34% on January 2022 and again increased by 4% on July. Now the central Govt. employees get 38% DA.
But it is heard that the state government of West Bengal may increase DA by 3% to employees. It is also known that DA may increase by 8%. However, no such news was received from the government itself. So the doubt remains whether this news is true or rumour.
